I don't believe in certifications that aren't required for a job. Any idiot can get a certification; it means dick though. I have met people who get all smug about having a certification from Microsoft, doesn't mean shit. Those same people are usually incapable of problem solving or living up to their certification's title. The same goes for the smug assholes who go to a big name Ivy league school like Harvard etc...
I have dealt with jackasses that think they are better than me because of their certs, but when it comes down to skill and performance they lose. They lose because I can prove my ability in real time and in practicality. Most shmucks with certs know jack shit because they worked in a giant operation that had different people assigned to each key on a keyboard. Or they just lie their way through life and their job, forever blaming others for their short comings.
It is very hard for me to lie to people, but other fuck heads with a shit eating grin can sail by because they can talk up their game. I, on the other hand, have skills on the job, but I am bad at lying to people during interviews.
This is a screwy world we live in where the undeserving get the rewards and the nice guys finish last. Mean but true. I am trying to find the perfect balance between both things, being a jerk and being a nice guy. I'd say 99% of the time I am a nice guy and I don't want to see others fail, but that other 1% I hate on the people who ungracefully making things difficult for everyone else.
