Sides

A friend of mine and I disagree about something. Here is the argument:

Is it ethical for people to help people outside of their country, with respect to the poor and needy. This argument excludes family. We are talking about strangers.

My argument:

Help your countrymen first, don't go outside your own country when there are people right here at home that need that same help.

His Argument:

Help people that need it the most regardless of where they are. The squeaky wheel gets the oil.

So we have this opposing view and I think it is more important to help our folks here at home and fuck everyone else. I would rather invest into where I live instead of anywhere else. My buddy says that the homeless people here have got it made in comparison to other countries, but guess what... they are still homeless and it sucks.

If you were homeless and someone came up to you and said, "Man! It sucks that you are homeless, but at least you aren't a poor person in Cairo, they have got it real bad!" I'm pretty sure that would get you yelled at, beat up, mugged or murdered.

Our argument escelated and my buddy said that I shouldn't want to segregate everything and that we shouldn't be tribal. I don't agree, I don't see anyone from those countries helping us, so fuck them and I don't want their help. He said that we should work towards being a global nation where people can go back and forth between lands freely. I think he is wrong, not that I wouldn't like that, but it will never happen because of the differences between between people that will make them war. Essentially I think he is thinking up a pipe dream and that it is never going to happen because humans by nature are both tribal and selfish. If everyone was honest and said exactly what they were thinking then a majority of our problems would be gone.

So then I started asking him questions about how would he force everyone to live like that? He didn't have much of an answer and essentially the argument boiled down to what it always boils down to for us (we have a lot of these kinds of disagreements) which is anyone who was going to be disagreeable during this process would have to either be marooned or slaughtered. Essentially we need a benevolent dictator.

A benevolent dictator seems to be what our country needs, kind of like the king we had here from 2000 to 2008, y'know King George - George Dubbya Pretzel Eating Bush. We would need someone like him, but intelligent, not republican and has a very very good moral compass. The dictator would need to get everyone on the same page and anyone who has incredibly stupid views or arguments should be killed off. I know this is a dangerous path and a pipe dream too, but I think that this would help get this and other countries on the humane track. I would like to live in a world where all racists, bigots, zealous religious people, republicans and tea baggers were all dead. Our lives would be so much better than they are right now.

My one dream in life would be to have the powers of "Death" or like in the anime "Death Note" where the main character has a notebook where if he writes the name of who he wants to die, they will (there are more rules to it if you are wondering, look it up, great anime available on Netflix (subtitled! yay!). I would like to live my life like the Boon Dock Saints or Frank Castle aka The Punisher. I just don't see how we, as a society, can really work through our problems by talking through them. When we do that we allow people like Rick Scott to run Florida. He is a fucking Criminal! Then look at all the crazy bullshit that is going on with respect to Gays and Lesbians, they are treated as second rate citizens. They are being treated just like interracial couples were being treated like and are still to some degree being treated like. A bunch of people who are using their religious views as their reasoning in government are ruining other people's lives.

I hate these mother fuckers and I hope they all die. People like Pat Robertson or the very dead Reverend Falwell. These people don't help anyone, they all deserve to die.

SO... to avoid all this death and social cleansing, I see no other way but to separate our Countries into smaller Tribal nations. The US needs to stop being the world police and keep to their fucking selves.
