I Get It Now
Yeah, I get it now. I am basically one of those kids, I guess I am a horrible person. My mother can't afford her house and I have tried lowering her bills and changing things for her so life will be easier on her. However she still can't afford her home. My father, when he was alive, is the one that made the most money, shitty 40K salary. My mother always worked, but equally as bad paying, shitty 18 to 20K per year jobs.
So when my father passed away, my mother had to deal with paying for everything. Really fucked. Still is too even when both her children left. My sister and I left, everything got cheaper for her, but not cheap enough. Her monthly budget is negative...
I didn't appreciate having to pay her 3000 a year to help. Fucked me good with my student debt. Some shit that was.
Anyhow, I told her for the good of everyone she should sell the house, buy a condo and pocket the remainder. Her weeping answer is no, "No - I don't want to live in a box. It will depress me." I get it, but again, she is negative every month. How about being positive one of these fucking months? You know some extra spending money? I also wonder how she is going to make rent...

Negativity
I have been thinking about what it means to be negative exactly. In reality this term is used as a label for people who tell the truth. The truth that apparently optimists don't want to listen to. If you tell someone what will happen if they do "A" and they take offense to it, they will usually retort with: "You are so negative" or "You are being negative". Even if you have had previous experience with it; they don't like what they are hearing and they dismiss your cold hard experience and facts. Instead of listening to what you have to say, they just take personal offense to the idea of criticism or being wrong and deflect their short comings back on the messenger.
This is basically a form of projection. Using the same goddamn logic I can go ahead and start telling people "You are being too optimistic" or "You are being optimistic" and see how the other party likes it. I got really pissed off when someone told me I was being too negative and I countered with "I am being realistic" and they countered back with "That is what a negative person would say". Oh I see, so being realistic has no place in the Optimists world. The optimist is much like a stupid religious zealot who believes in unfounded and unsupported faith to get them through their ordeals. Therefore Optimists are being unrealistic. You can't prove what an optimist believes in when they don't want to look at facts.
Yet another conundrum of our society...
If people could just be honest with themselves and others there wouldn't be so many problems. Liars and dishonest people are the root of society's problems. I am not negative, I focus on the truth and facts. I want to be realistic at all serious times. I don't want to be realistic when I am having fun though, there is no place for it.
Stupid optimistic people suck.
