I am currently learning a valuable lesson in business/development about how to get things that are really really important done the proper way. For example my idiot boss will not listen to me when I tell him that we need to secure our web services because right now anyone can attach themselves or make a reference to our web services effortlessly and steal our data.
His response the last three times I have told him this is, "ehmm... yeahh that's important..." but he never revisits the issues at hand, he just conveniently forgets it. Which is irresponsible and negligent. This man is incompetent.
The advice given to me is we need to document these things and get past the fact that someone won't believe you when you say something is a big problem. However this leads me to really dislike the fact that I have to go this far to get someone to listen to logic. If you cannot see that your house is on fire and I need to explain to you that your house is burning, then you are a negligent imbecile.
So taking the more positive approach, I will create these documents from now on explaining the more than obvious deal at hand. I don't feel that every scenario has to be like this, but unfortunately it is the way it is.
The fact remains that my boss is a moron.
