Social media products such as face book are more of a hindrance than a help. I hate how this has become a new form of communication amongst people, I am afraid that it will be expected of people to use social media sites against their will, suck as LinkedIn and other sites. If you do not have a LinkedIn account, I feel that you are scrutinized by employers currently and I think that is wrong. I prefer to be invisible amongst people so they never know what I am up to, doing, etc... I want everyone to be clueless.
I also don't want people to know my official opinions on anything which is why I chose to open this anonymous blog. I blog with my handle 'blagger' because I have to protect myself against the world. However I can cowardly exercise my freedom of speech safely.
I closed my Facebook account today, because I can't risk someone saying something offensive or stupid on my facebook account and me having to pay for it. "How would they see it if you don't invite them to see it?" There are very few degrees of separation between coworkers and friends. I am not going to risk someone seeing anything through someone Else's account. You don't have to friend someone for your information or pictures to be shared.
Fuck social media. It has the potential to be a career killer, so count me out. That is why I closed my live journal account too like 2 years ago. Bad thing to leave open.
I want to be as anonymous as possible online except for the professional sense. I want people to see me in the light that I shine, not the light that I actually emit. Getting by in the world takes a lot of discipline and training and fuck if I want important people to know what I am actually thinking.
The good part about all this is, one day, I will be rich enough that it won't matter.
