The Downside to Technology

Not too long ago, back in the 80's there was no such thing as having home computers, cellphones or Internet. I am not saying that I want things to go back to how they were, but I think some people are just being goddamn inconsiderate of other people's time when it comes to the use of technology.

Remember how back in the 80's you couldn't call your cousin in a remote location too often or at all. Now it seems like it is a goddamn obligation and I don't like it. I already dislike most of my family, but for some reason people think I need to call and stay in contact with them when they are not anywhere near where I live. I have my life to live and they have theirs. For some reason unbeknown to me they think I need to call them every week or every month. Which I think is goddamn ridiculous since this is how the conversations tend to play out:

Them: Hi
Me: Hi
Them: How are you doing?
Me: Fine and you?
Them: Good. How's work?
Me: Good, you?
Them: Good.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THE POINT OF THAT CONVERSATION? I can fucking record it and play it back to them. I don't need to waste my time on the phone with someone who I am never going to see any time soon. I don't like wasting my time with trivial bullshit like that. I am tired of people thinking that just because we have the capability to communicate doesn't mean we need to. Just like, just because you have family doesn't mean you have to like or love them; especially if they suck. I don't buy the baseless arousing emotion phrase of "But we are family" or "That is your family" family are still people and people suck, so there is nothing stopping your family members from being sucky family members.

I am very very worried that employers are going to make it a silent requirement that you have a LinkedIn account. I know this is speculation, but I can see the conversations now, "You don't have a LinkedIn account? Why?", "Because I like to remain a little anonymous, I don't need people I don't know knowing everything about me."

People are respecting each other's boundaries less and less. And some people are contributing too much information more and more online, on blogs, on facebook without thinking about the goddamn consequences. I have a facebook account I do not update, you know why, because I am afraid to piss off the wrong people and the people I know. I can't control people judging me behind the scenes, why give them more fuel for their hatred fire? I don't need people knowing what I do every 10 minutes, if I was an employer I would block that fucking site and if you used your cellphone I would stalk your ass to make sure you weren't updating your stupid ass facebook on the job.

People need to use their fucking heads and stop being so goddamn sensitive or juvenile. If you have too much free time and you criticize others for not doing things with you or doing the things that you do, then you need to look at the priorities in your life and figure out if it is okay for you to have that much free time. Are you going to be okay with the same shit job you have now? Are you okay with getting older and not having any savings at your disposal? Are you okay with getting older and then being replaced by a younger cheaper model? If so then continue being a pain in the ass. Seems like that is what most people suffer from. I do not plan on getting screwed when I get older, I want to be comfortable.

I hate people.

But hey, I can't say any of what I just said with my real identity because I will be criticized for speaking the truth. Hence my cowardly way of telling the world and my tolerated speech. The good news is nothing will happen to me because no one will know who I am.
