I remember getting into an argument with a Rabbi about the existence of god or lack thereof in my opinion. He was losing the argument in my opinion when he started yelling at me when I told him I could care less about what happens or where I go when I die.
Anyhow, at one point during the argument he insisted that religious people always band together in times of need and whatever. I told him that - that is a generalization and that other people outside of religion do band together in times of need. In fact groups of people who share the same interest will usually band together in times of need, it is pretty normal and has nothing to do with a fictitious invisible father figure.
He then brought up the loose point of, "Well, look at hospitals, they are all named after Religious figures." "Yeah so?" "That means that religious people are more concerned with the overall well being of people than non..." I told him that means nothing and doesn't have anything to do with religion, it is just a naming convention. "But you don't see any atheist hospitals!" "So North Shore Medical center is religious? How?" Stupid argument.
Point of me saying all of this is, that a Co-worker of mine is in a rut, so I lent him $200 dollars to keep him out of trouble. I am not religious, but out of the goodness of my heart, I want to help him. He is not religious either. We form a group of same interest due to the job and other views, we help one another.
Case in point.
Rabbi, go fuck yourself.
