Fuck the IRS

I hate our tax system. I hate it with a burning red hot passion because to me it is the biggest piece of crap in our fucking country. So many goddamn laws and ways to dissect things, too many fucking taxes for every little goddamn thing someone does day to day.

I 1099 contracted and I didn't pay all of my taxes for that portion of my work for the 2009 year. I did however fill out a fucking 1040-ES because I fear our stupid fucking tax system, so I took a proactive approach to filing for an estimated amount of taxes and I estimated for the first quarter of the tax year that I had to pay $453 dollars. I paid the $453 dollars knowing that I was doing the right thing.

I then filed my taxes for the 2009 year and I ended owing $1,392 in taxes because when I did my 1040-ES I did not factor in the "Self-Employment Tax" which is the equivalent of paying your Medicare and Social Security taxes and what ever other pointless bullshit tax I didn't agree to in the first place we are forced to pay. I was slightly saddened about paying the $1,392 because it was such a huge amount, but I knew it made sense since I didn't pay those taxes before on my contractors salary.

I just got a fucking letter from the goddamn IRS telling me I owe them $453. Which of course immediately put me in the worst fucking mood you can imagine. I am seething right now, I want to hurt something or someone right now I am so fucking mad. I am on HOLD waiting for some fucking IRS fuck to talk to me about how THEY FUCKED UP and how I DON'T OWE THEM ANY FUCKING MONEY because I ALREADY PAID THE FUCKING $453.

FUCK YOU IRS

FUCK YOU IN THE IRS ASS

I am not saying the IRS cannot make mistakes, but for Christ sake, if I make a mother fucking mistake I get penalized, sued, my wages are levied or garnished or I am Jailed. If the fucking IRS fucks up I have to take time out of my fucking day to call them and clean up their FUCK UP.
So I call the fucking IRS and they tell me I owe them $453, I told them I paid already, I have the fucking EFTPS papers in my hand that say I paid them. I even have the goddamn agreement that says I am giving them permission to remove the $453 dollars from my account.

THEY DROPPED THE BALL - THEY NEVER REMOVED THE MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT.

Great fucking job IRS and your SHITTY EFTPS system, you fucking assholes. I made the fucking effort to pay them and they didn't take the goddamn money I sent them. You fucking imbeciles and now you turn around and tell me I owe you the money you were supposed to remove my from my account a YEAR ago! You fucking morons! FUCK YOU IRS.

The Let Away

A coworker was let go today, which is a euphemism for fired. He was warned 4 weeks or so ago. He earned the firing, he was a nice guy, just a bad coder. Even though this was earned, doesn't subtract from how much this sucks. I don't feel as if enough was done to fix the problem.

I like my supervisor on a personal level, but professionally speaking his managerial skills suck. He is very smart and his ideas and solutions shows that, but he shouldn't be a manager...

Cubans Suck

I dislike the stereotypical Cubans that mostly reside in South Florida. There are two main types of Cubans that I have met. There is the appreciative, glad to be in the USA Cuban that either swam over or won the lottery to get to the USA, dubbed a "Gusano" by Castro, which is Spanish for worm. Then there is the less appreciative egotistical self righteous Cuban, who is really first generation American and not directly Cuban - Cuban.

When ever I speak to the first type I hear stories of hardship, fear and struggle. They speak about how they miss their country, but wouldn't move back because they fear Castro and his Gestapo. They are loud and speak with their hands, but I don't mind it they can be a delightful fun bunch of people. They are happy to finally be set free (er).

These Cubans that fought hard to get to the USA, who work fairly hard to live well in the USA, but sometimes refuse to learn English for whatever stupid ass reason, eventually have children. These children for some reason, of course not all, are cultivated to think that they are owed something? What that something is I will never know, you can't ask because they don’t know either... they talk or act like they are entitled to everything and they only deserve the best. Not that no one deserves the best, but they won’t settle for anything less. They become brutal, rude disgusting people when they don't get what they want. They shove you and tell you "get out of my way!" As though asking politely wouldn't have worked. They are a selfish bunch of rude and ignorant fuck-tards who can't seem to accomplish anything without a handicap. They become your best friend when you are the only one who can do or give them something they require.

Most of these Cubans, these floridiots, these ugly Americans reside in a place that I think might be part of Cuba and not part of the USA. They live in Cuba-ville or more commonly known as "Kendall." I hate Kendall for many reasons, mostly because of the Cubans. Let’s start with their driving habits. Most Cubans in Kendall own a needlessly gigantic vehicle, I am talking about the assholes that have 0 to 1 children and drive a suburban. The car is too big, not fuel efficient and they drive the damn thing like it was a derby vehicle. Cubans for some reason like driving their big stupid trucks, SUVs or Hummers as if they could afford the monthly payment on it. Most of them live way above their means because appearance is what is most important to them. I hate seeing one child in the back of a giant Lincoln navigator listening to their iPod, ignoring their parent, usually the mother. 

Then there is the Cuban male who drives his Ford F350, it is spotless and shiny with no load in the back because he doesn't use it for what it was made for, he is just an asshole hauling his giant ego in the back of his truck. When it comes to who the worse driver is, it is Cuban women hands down, because they think it is okay to put on make-up while driving on the highway, they think they are allowed to switch lanes without giving notice, they are allowed to stop traffic to talk to their fucking Cuban friend in the car next to them. Most of what I highlighted is done by all Cubans and normal people, but usually more so by the women. They are very aggressive and scary drivers, they take everything personally on the road, so do I because it is usually them on the road I encounter. All Cubans drive like they are the only ones on the road, they cut people off in traffic, they insert themselves where they shouldn't, and they make left hand turns from the right turn lane. They drive on the sidewalk, literally.

Cubans let their dogs shit on other people's lawns, and then they don't pick it up. If that weren’t enough if you tell them to pick up their shit they get mad as hell and say, "Don't tell me what to do!" And they scamper off like the animals that they are. You see Cubans are too good to pick up after their dogs. Fucking idiot Cubans. If you are a fucking dog owner it is your responsibility to clean up after your dogs, not everyone else’s.

Fuck Kendall and fuck Cuban Americans.

Mondays

I, like every other normal person absolutely detests Mondays. I understand that any day back from a vacation or weekend will always be a day I can't stand. Even if the first day of the week was moved to Wednesdays, i would still hate it. The thing is I hate days where I can physically get myself to work, but not be in the mental state or mood to work, so the whole day will waste away and I feel bad doing it. I'd rather go home and sleep. Days like this suck and make me slightly depressed. I will be moving pretty soon, so things will get better for me soon enough. Fuck Kendall and all the assholes in it.

Coding Gripes

The “var” declaration does not belong ANYWHERE near C#, it is a travesty as far as I am concerned that it got into the C# language. The use of "var" is NOT strongly typed and therefore should not be in managed code. It is for lazy people who are still in love with shitty unstructured coding practices like VB, VBScript or VB.Net.

The "var"/"dim" and other symbols are okay to use when scripting, like in JavaScript or python. The reason being you really don't know 100% what your inputs are or what to expect. I know I listed VBScript above but that is because VBScript is crap and should be sealed away in history never to rise again, objective c can join it.

Scripting is pseudo programming, which is not a stab at scripters, I script frequently. I am just saying don't port it over to managed code and try to pass it off as good practice. They are different, keep the seperation.

Everyday Life is Business

So apparently I can't go live my day to day life the way I want to anymore on what I consider non work related events or gatherings. It makes me sad that I can't speak to people who are somewhat strangers or a husband or wife of my girlfriend's co-worker without it turning into a business related conversation. This is a double edged sword because I get to sell myself to possibly bigger and better things. However if I am not in the mood for business I can ruin business relations easily without even realizing it. This happened to me a few times already, where I would blow an opportunity to make some good cash because I am not crooked or shady enough or I just didn't realize I was being interviewed when talking to a stranger.

I can't even work on side projects without it being a business or legal issue, possibly friendship damaging. I am on the verge of possibly doing business with friends, but it gets complicated and I am not business inclined.

I am just sad that I can't just talk. I always have to be on gaurd. Anyone reading this is thinking, oh poor you, you have too many business connexions. That's not the point, just makes me sad that it is always about business now a days.

One day I will be very wealthy, I will turn this game. I swear it.

Work Questions

I find it annoying when someone, normally a client, will ask me a question they should not be asking me because it is more business related than it is related to my duties or something I can actually answer. Then apparently it is wrong for me to just reply with, "I don't know." or "I am not an accountant, go ask an accountant." Plus it really doesn't help when I don't have a business analyst to forward or ask these questions that I am not qualified to answer. As much as I like accounting, I dislike being held accountable for questions I shouldn't be held accountable for.

I am a programmer, when I don't have the initial specs for something, I can't answer questions about something I didn't design. The best I can do is reverse engineer it and do my best to explain what I found with a disclaimer.

I just wish people were a little more considerate when it came to these things.

Unecessary Evils

I dislike it when I am told something is a necessary evil, which is just another way of excusing or justifying something that is wrong. There is one rule that I like living by other than just being painfully and brutally honest with everyone, it is saying exactly what I mean. Say what you mean, don’t flower it up or use euphemisms to be creative about it and avoid what you are really meaning to say. The ironic part about all of this is that I can only be 100% honest about what I am thinking or saying here on this blog. I will risk too much if I were to say exactly what I am thinking at work where the people around me can make me lose my job if they repeat things I am saying. It is a cruel fact of life, but no you cannot say whatever you want, no freedom of expression or speech, it is all bullshit.
People all too often will qualify something by saying it is a necessary evil instead of calling it exactly what it is. To give this some context here is an example:
The company I work for (I will have to cut corners with the story to make this short) owns in part a piece of another company they contracted to do some programs for them. I will call my company, Acme Corp. and the other company I will refer to as Judas Inc. (there is a reason for the second name). So to recap, Acme contracted Judas to write some programs for them, enterprise level to manage the stuff Acme deals with. The Judas Company operates on the principals of Duck Tape programming, which is agile programming on crack. For the less programming inclined, they essentially put together their programs as quickly as possible so they can sell it for a quick product. This involves getting a bunch of careless contractors (I was a contractor at one point, but I was very caring and careful with my code) who also only care about their money and not the product; then having this mixture of fulltime and contractor employees to put together as much crappy code as possible and sell it to whoever is buying. So the Judas Company created some software suites and gave it to Acme for them to use and ultimately for Acme to maintain the code themselves. This is where I come in, I am maintaining this poorly written shit code and I have met some of the fuck-tards that were responsible for writing it and I feel like kicking them in the nuts. Thankfully they all left, because they are flaky assholes who were there to pick up a paycheck.
I would not be nearly as mad as I am about this if we didn’t still have to deal with the Judas Company, but we do and we need to maintain a relationship with them because of their influence and contacts. Their leader is an overly ambitious obnoxious arrogant prick of a business man, like most business people are. I am all about making money, but I don’t like screwing people over in the process. I have been called Naïve for having that point of view, but you know what, this is basically the root of the problems with our Capitalistic society, no one cares about anyone else. No one thinks about how their actions will affect anyone else, they just want to turn a buck. I disagree, we can be nice to each other and live harmoniously if we were to work together instead of in this big stupid free for all that we call America. So I am told that being a prick in business is a necessary evil in order to make money, because after all the leader of Judas Inc. made a lot of money doing what he did to us. The worst part is, he is taking his business ventures to our clients and making more money the same way. I have a bad feeling all of the stupid shit products they produce are going to end up in our laps to maintain, it is bad practice. There is nothing moral or correct about it, but hey he is making millions of dollars doing it, so that makes it okay because it is a necessary evil.
I don’t think I am being the Naïve one here, I think it is all the people who want to turn a blind eye to what is actually happening before them by saying, “It’s a necessary evil.” Yeah because that makes it okay for us to be screwed out of profit and to be footed the proverbial bill (broken code). If people were more honest, things would work a lot better everywhere.
Anyhow, back to fixing bad duck taped code.

The god Question

One of my favorite and least favorite things to talk about with people is the existence or lack thereof, of a god. For all intensive purposes the word god will remain with a lower case letter "g", as that is all god is – just a word. I have faced off in this arena many times and I have come to the conclusion that I am 100% right about this without a doubt in my mind. I have spoken to religious people of different faiths and men of faith such as rabbis. No matter what they try to tell me in order to convince me that there is a god I remain unconvinced. I have been unconvinced even before I took a philosophy course.

I was raised Jewish and I did not really start to question religion or god until I was about 12 or 13. I started to think about things that could not be answered simply and how the answer for those questions revolved around the answer of "it just is because god said so..." this is remarkably similar to republican thinking which is, "if I don't admit that I am wrong, then I am not wrong." I don't know if you can tell but I don't like irresponsible and irrational right wing nuts.

I pride myself on the freedom I gave myself from religion, which was not an easy path. The number of years I had to pretend to give a shit about religion were too many because my father was a real asshole, the dictator who decided what was right and just. If you disagreed with him about close to anything you were up shits creek. Finally when I saw an out, I took it and thus my pain and hard ship begun. My out was through college, where I knew if I was going to be kicked out of my house or driven to leave I could and would leave without issue and live on campus or with roommates. Luckily my father died 2 weeks after disowning me purely because of my disbelief in god or religion. That’s some good parenting and ironic to boot.

I remember when I told a rabbi that I was not interested in religion he told me I needed to do more research; which to me is a bullcrap answer. That makes as much sense as a salesman telling me I need to research a product because he wants me to buy something he is selling. If you can't convey your message clearly and logically, why would anyone be interested in what you have to offer? This kind of vague reasoning wouldn't fly during an interview unless the person listening is a brainless twit, which much of the religious masses are. Can't form your own thoughts? The only thing I have seen in these offers is false promise.

I don't think religion or god makes sense because if it were something that I required then I shouldn't have to be sold on the idea it should just be something I want naturally to do... like sex. So since this is not the case it is unnecessary and what I refer to as the weak minded and weak willed. Why do you require a god to live or go about your day to day business? This is silly reasoning and I really think people should take a step back and think about what they are committing there time to. The monumental waste of time and effort put into something that will only give back on a 50/50 basis. I remember being told a story once about how you should pray for what you want until you get what you want. The acronym they used for the story is called "P.U.S.H." or "Pray until Something Happens." I hate to break it to you folks but this means that nothing will happen 50% of the time, so why bother? It is the same as doing nothing.

So I offer an idea: if you need something to believe in, believe in yourself. It is wrong to assume that if you don't have an answer to something to render the subject inconclusive or to say that god is the answer or that god has an answer. This is shit reasoning and should not be used. Just because I can't figure out why something "is" doesn't mean there isn't a reason or an answer.

Religion aside from god is just a form of brainwashing and scandal. The only good that comes from religion is a sense of community, nothing more. Other than that there is corruption.

Something else that pisses me off is when people talk about miracles. There is no such thing. A miracle is an extraordinary (Extra-Ordinary) case or an unexplained happening which is inherently false. I believe that everything is a series of events, cause and effect. Therefore there cannot be a happening without a root cause.

There must be a starting point for everything. Which I know is fallible as well because there is no way to describe how time or life began, but our whole world operates on order of events and it works the best. My argument for this is, just because I can't explain why this is, does not mean there is no reason; it just hasn't been found yet. This is a much better answer than saying there is a god. God is a piss poor answer, because it is the equivalent of a 2 year old asking "WHY?" repeatedly. I can answer any question with: "god willed it so..." or "gods will be done..." or "god knows why..." it is dodging questions and leaving thing wide open and vague.

People swear they feel spiritual and they think they praying helps them feel better or recover from illness. This is all true, but mislabeled. Your brain produces chemicals, you perceive reality and events as you do and depending on how you take things your brain creates chemicals to make you feel a certain way. Therefore spirituality is nothing more than your brain releasing chemicals such as endorphins when you think about something that makes you very happy or thrilled. Guess what, I feel that way about sex, art, anime and money. It is called euphoria, nothing more. The people who keep a good attitude while in the hospital are the most likely to survive because they produce less toxins. It is not a miracle or god.

That being said, the person you should believe in is yourself. You will get faster, more accurate and sometimes quality results. I don't rely on anyone else for my immediate problems and success except for myself. However, I do believe that people cannot be successful without the help of others. That is, when someone makes the big headed republican claim of, "I came from nothing and I got to where I am today all on my own with hard work." Statements like that are only half true; because it is impossible for someone to be successful in a society without interacting with and mooching off of his community. You cannot work your way to the top without working with or for other people.

I never liked hearing from my parents or other people saying phrases like, "god willing" or "thank god" or "thank god for the food on this table." It’s pretty obvious that god doesn't have much to do with any of those scenarios. You will willingly do what you want whether driven by the thoughts of god or not. Didn't god give you free will? So why do you need gods will? Why thank god for something you did or something other people did for you. Don't be modest, if you did something thank yourself, you did it not god. If someone lent you a helping hand in a time of need, don't dismiss this fact by thanking someone who isn't in the picture, thank the parties responsible only, they did it not god.

Israel Can Suck It

I don't think Israel can keep milking the "I'm a poor defenseless Jew" excuse anymore. It has been about 69 years now (December 8th 1941 when it started getting bad) and I was fed all the "poor us" bullshit in Hebrew School, but I think enough is enough. Israel cannot play the victim any longer, not when they are causing the problems directly. Israel is getting away with murder and they are over stepping their bounds as usual. Those fuck asses need to learn that the rules are the rules. They think they own all of the South of Israel and should be able to build where ever the hell they feel like, but politically speaking that is bunk. They are not being fair to their unwanted neighbors in the South and they are pissing everyone off. Honestly if Iran decides to nuke the shit out of them, I would be fine with it they earned it. You reap what you sow or more appropriately, you made your bed now lie in it. They were given Palestinian land after World War II, but it is never enough for them. They wonder why the Palestinians are so pissed off all of the time and why people are blowing themselves up. I think it is very obvious that these fuck tards need to get a clue and have very few options otherwise Iran and other nations are going to open a can of Hiroshima on their asses.

Here is my resolution for the matter:

Either live together as a happy family of Jews and Muslims, in other words coexist; or if that is not possible (which it clearly isn't), then ban the land of Israel. It is all or none, either they work this out or no one should be allowed to live in Israel, turn it into a nature reserve. Fuck it, it is just land. They call it holy land, but all it has ever brought has been destruction. I still maintain that "god is the leading cause of death -GC", then comes heart disease trailing in second. I really think that the US should cut all ties with Israel. If Israel thinks they can take everyone on, then fuck them and let them try. Let them prove themselves to the world. I want to see a country that is 2.5 times the size of Rhode Island take on everyone else. Zionism is stupid and wrong.

Everyone always talks about how they are getting bombed by terrorists etc... especially the news channels with their biased reporting towards the poor Jews and against the evil Islamic terrorists. These mother fuckers earn every bomb they get hit with, because they are just as bad as the terrorists that bomb them. They massacred and killed many Arabs, just recently they bombed the shit out of Lebanon because they swore Lebanon was harboring terrorists. This is not fair because every time the Arabs defend themselves with the small crappy attacks that they can muster, Israel has the ability to bring out the big guns and destroy them easily and effortlessly. The worst part about it is no one says anything, no one stops them from doing it.

Israel is a loose cannon, they are supposed to be democratic and good upstanding people, but all they ever display is their abuse of their power and aid. I am not defending the terrorists, because I don't believe what they are doing is right either, but if you look back in history you can clearly see where a lot of this got started. I am not even talking about biblical times, where everyone has been told that the Jews always face hardships and many nations always try to wipe out the Jews. Yeah, well being raised Jewish I can understand why. Jews (I will rant all about this in another post), not all of them, are raised to be a bunch of snobbish arrogant elitist anti-Semitic pricks. I remember always hearing from people how they hate Arabs, they don't really know why, they just assume all Arabs are bad. They all are programmed to say the same thing when you ask them about Palestine, "PALESTINE NEVER EXISTED" they always snort with a purple face. They are pulling republican tactics, "If I keep spewing falsehoods they eventually will be adopted as truths." I fucking hate republicans, especially republican Jews. Republican Jews voted for George Bush Junior and Senior because he wanted to kill Arabs. I was told this by these bloodthirsty assholes. They have no shame.

All of this is just more fodder to fuel the Jew hate fest. There are some Jews that get it, they understand that being a snobbish asshole to everyone might make people hate you. Most of all I want the US to stop supporting them right away and finally our government is getting upset enough to realize what is going on.

Watch for Motorcyclists

I hate seeing bumper stickers that say, "Watch for motorcyclists." or "Share the road with motorcyclists." I say fuck motorcyclists because a majority of them don't follow the rules of the road. At least in my area, most of them are arrogant assholes who speed and weave in and out of lanes dangerously in front of other vehicles. I don't mind the person on the moped, or the occasional midlife crisis Harley Davidson rider, because they just use the road like everyone else. They don't do stupid shit like ride in between cars during traffic jams or drive in the emergency lane when they know for a goddamn fact they shouldn't.

Once, not long ago, I remember making a right hand turn at an intersection and I saw a motorcyclist off in the distance. I had plenty of time to turn and then switch lanes because I needed to enter the highway. This dipshit with his fucking harpy clenched to his back decided that because I got in front of him, with enough warning I used my blinker and enough room, decided I offended him. He then proceeded to ride my bumper, which make me very angry no matter who is doing it and for whatever stupid ass reason. Of course this wasn't enough, so he rode up alongside me and proceeded to give me the eye and his harpy was screeching. So I did what I always do, I extended my arm and raised my finger and showed them who is number one.

I don't feel bad for people who die while doing stupid shit. If you are on the highway, popping a wheelie is probably not a good idea. If you’re stupid ass falls off and dies, I could care less you earned it just as much as a lion tamer, killer whale trainer or if someone taunting a fucking stingray. Fuck you people.

Its easier said than done

I am tired of people telling me I have to make time for things, especially when they have no idea what goes on in my life. I especially hate it when people tell me, "look at me, I have a job and all this other stuff, but I still get exercise in." I don't appreciate the comparisons of people who obviously don't have a lot to do all of the time. I am not someone who can sit around for an entire day and not do something constructive. I need to do things and if I don't have anything to do I will find something to do. For example, we all could use more money, always. I am able to relax, just not for long and not if I know I have things I need to get done. The reality of it is, if I am getting older and the older I get the harder it is for me to stay awake and the easier it is for me to get tired, then I need to hustle and get as much done as humanly possible before retirement age. Whether that be a business, personal projects or anything else that is harder to do as you get older. I hate hearing from people, "hey, you stress out too much..." yeah maybe you don't stress out enough. I know people that piss away their time doing things that as far as I am concerned is a waste of time. Religion being one of them, specifically religions that are more difficult to follow and definitely more archaic than Christianity (I don’t favor Christianity either, I am atheist) Usually the vibe I get from people who think I stress out too much are people who either don't have a long term goal (why worry about tomorrow when today isn't over yet?) Or people who are jealous of me and my never ending list of priorities and goals. The people who tell me, "you are such a loser for not going out with us and getting wasted." Mean while the person telling me this has the IQ of a brick, has the salary of a bag boy, or already started child support payments for his first of many bastards. Fuck you and don't dictate to me what my priorities should be. I don't like hearing from people, "hey you need to learn to relax." Yeah? If I could relax, naturally I would. "You need to learn to stop and smell the roses and enjoy life." This is bullshit because everyone knows, even if they don't want to admit it, you can only have that stupid attitude for about ten minutes, because then you need to get back to work. There is no end to work until the weekend, which of course is used to do personal things, which is just another category of work. I hate the vicious rollercoaster ride. Living for the weekend is not my favorite thing to do but it is happening. The only people who are happy are rich people and people who don't want to achieve more than a shit pay check. Goddamn it I may not relax, but it is fun to watch the nagging nay Sayers at the bottom struggling from way up here. I thrive on proving people wrong, especially when I know I can. I had teachers and advisors tell me I was going to amount to nothing, oh how wrong they were. I feel the same way now, I need to work, and build my empire so I can enjoy the disabled years of my life with whatever bout of cancer I will have to face. I love my family genetics. I am tired and upset. I hate the damn 40 mile drive I do to and from work. I need a break, and I need it soon...

My First Post

This is the post to pop my blogging cherry, however I was blogging way before it got popular or before it was called blogging. I'm sure there are things that are older, but I started with Live Journal and pretty much stopped once I went to college. I was tired of defending my position on anything to people I knew. At one point though I made the conscience decision to stop contributing personal information to the internet void through social networking sites etc... because I was applying for jobs and the last thing I need is to not get one just because some asshole didn't like something I said about a specific subject. I think if something is well researched and there is a decent argument people should open up their minds to see what the writer is talking about before scrutinizing them. Obviously my handle was made to point out exactly what I never liked about blogging and that is the shitty criticism that was received from people I knew when I had a position on something whether it be as safe a topic as kittens to as something as dangerous as politics. I realized at one point it was better to either
A. Keep all my journal entries private (what's the fun in that?) or
B. Stop posting all together to minimize image damage.
I remember growing up my parents and other people would tell me "You shouldn't care what other people think of you." which is geared more towards self-esteem when you are going through your teenage awkward phase, but It is a double edged sword regardless. This for a lack of better words is bullshit. Everything you say, do, look like, smell like, act like may count against you in this rat race called life. I am always looking for the median, the middle ground, the sand bar in the ocean of eyes and criticism but there is always someone who is going to be unhappy with something you say or do. You can't please everyone.
This brings me to the title of my blog "The Cowards Way to Practice Freedom of Speech". I would like to start off by saying there is no such thing as freedom of speech. Simply put, if there were actual "freedom" of speech; then there would be A. No consequences following things you say B. No criticism. This is obviously not the case, and I think this is something this country likes to feed us in the delicious red, white and blue Kool-Aid we drink. The usage of the word "Freedom" is used too freely and incorrectly.

There are some pretty clear definitions there of freedom and if you think about it after reading them, it doesn't make sense to put the word "Freedom" in front of the words "of speech" because simply put there is DEFINITELY consequences, restrictions and regulations on our speech. Now I know what some of you are thinking, Slander and Libel blah blah blah - Thanks captain obvious, you are missing the point if that is what you are getting out of reading this. My whole point is the word itself, "Freedom" is being MISUSED and is instead used as a guise only for what we actually have, which is "Tolerated" Speech or "Toleration" of Speech. Now some people think I am splitting atoms with this argument, but I really don't think so. I am a big fan of telling the truth and saying exactly what you mean instead of beating around the bush. If you need a good eye opener on what I am talking about there, I suggest looking up some videos where George Carlin (GC) goes into the misuse of the English language.
Euphemisms are not your friend, they are just a verbal mechanic used to soften or dull meaning. For example, "Joe is fucking ugly" sounds a lot worse than saying "Joe has a severe appearance deficit" (yes I got that from GC), the reason is instead of getting straight to the point we use words that have no feeling to describe things which keeps us in the safe zone sometimes.
The whole point of my blog (blag to some) is for me to say what truly is on my mind. Since this account is completely anonymous and I will not reveal anything personal about myself, I feel safer. I also won't have to worry about my boss or someone of importance reading my blog. The last thing I need is to be ostracized from an opportunity for something I truly believe I have the right to think or say. This bring me full circle to my handle "FreedomFromScrutiny" and the name of my blog "The Cowards Way to Practice Freedom of Speech". It is sad that I have to hide my identity so I won't lose my job or bar myself from future opportunities. Thus making me a coward to admit who I am and stand behind my positions, simply because I cannot. If I opened my mouth each time I disliked or disagreed with some asshole I wouldn't be as far as I am now. I don't kiss ass, but I do show the most respect to the people who I know will get me places. (That was an example of a statement that I would never say to my boss, nor do I need him reading it behind my back.)
If you haven't figured it out already, I like to complain and I write very long posts. I need an outlet and it is fun to see what people think, it is even better when there are no consequences attached to it.
