Affirmative Action

On one hand I agree with affirmative action on the other I don't. I think filling a racial quota just for the hell of it isn't fair to other people who have worked just as hard to get somewhere and then are denied for reverse racist reasons. Let's face the facts, this is the truth. If you are only going to pick people out of a pool of races and exclude others that is also racism. So for example if there is a quota of 10 black people to fill and there are 10 positions open. Then there are 20 applicants total including the black applicants, but only 5 of the 10 black applicants really deserve to be selected, but thw whole lot is selected, then what does that mean for the other 10 people who were not selected? What do you tell them? "Hey, sorry you didn't get in. It's the color of your skin that was the problem..." isn't that reverse racism for the sake of filling a quota. Here is a simple way to fix this problem. How about blind applications. You don't know anything about this person other than they are applying to your college. None of your goddamn business what color or sex they are, just the fact that they are applying is enough. I think that is fair. If someone is selecting people based on race then we have a problem. Just like the heads of universities giving the children of directors of any departments a free pass into med school. That is not okay. It's also not okay that they get to go for free. So really this boils down to, is it time to move past affirmative action? I say yes, especially since there are other institutions that are exclusive to a color already which I think is weird and no better than the KKK in some instances. In college I remember seeing a group that was dedicated to young black men. I found it strange and very misleading information wise since I had the displeasure of over hearing one of the seminars. They were advising that these kids not use credit cards, ever... only to use their debit cards. That is the shittiest advice I have ever heard given to anyone.
