I complained about the likely hood that I will contract cancer and well I still think that is a total possibility, but instead I have received a different genetic gift.
I went to a cardiologist to be cleared for a clonoscopy which is now not even a priority. I wore a heart monitor for 10 days. The readings showed that my heart rate dips down to the low 30s at times about 34 bpm and my personal favorite, my heart stops in my sleep.
My heart apparently stopped in my sleep for about 2 seconds. I don't breath well as is, I believe that I have sleep apbnea. I have woken up gasping for air as if someone was choking me to death three times in my life. So the doctor isn't pleased about this and nor am I. Before this doing a stress test was optional and a sleep study was optional. Now they are both mandatory.
I have a faulty ticker. Yay. And a heart murmur to boot. However the heart murmur is harmless I am told.
Ahhh, now the good part. So Aetna denied my claim for a sleep study because, I am paraphrasing, you need to be near death in order to qualify. Look at this link for details. You must have a congenitive heart defect such has CHF or congenitive heart failure. CHF is very bad, it is when your heart doesn't pump fast enough and your lungs fill with blood drowning you in your own fluids.
So once again, FUCK YOU AETNA. Thanks for being human about this. I might die in my sleep, but you mother fuckers will sleep well knowing that you saved money not paying for my treatment. It isn't like I don't pay my health insurance each month.
So now they want me to wear some other kind of fucking monitor so that we can prove that I need to go to a sleep study. Hopefully I will stay alive long enough to see the goddamn results. I don't feel 100% like my life is in danger, but you never know with heart problems. My father and uncle died of heart disease, I don't want to go out that way especially since I am healthy. I didn't bring any of this on, I don't fucking drink or smoke. I am not obese and I am not diabetic. My labs are clean! This is a genetic problem.
