So as everyone knows, if money were a woman I would make love to it and marry it. BUT its not, so I will just love it for its abilities. I am just happy that my finances are chugging along here. Selling my old car and leasing a new one, best idea ever. I now drive a fully loaded machine and I got 8K for my old 2007 (5 years old) car.
That 8K will pay for about 80% of my wedding ceremony. Fun times. I don't want to part with it but fuck it, it has to be done.
The plan after December, January 1st 2013 is to immediately start hammering my student loans. Going to do 5K chunks which is going to be 6 payments total. I am going to pay down the federal first. Then port the monthly payments to savings to build the 5K faster for the private loans. Not to mention the monthly payments I am already making with the private loan will help reduce the total anyhow. So in reality it might not be a total of 6 payments, it could be a smidge less.
I guestimate 6 payments though. I am excited because after I pay off my loans I won't have this debt looming over my head and I will have two less bills to worry about each month which makes me very happy.
Although my newly leased car did take the place of those monthly payments, but meh it was necessary. I will be very happy when these bills are behind me, because then I can look forward to try to buy a house again. Although this time I am very happy with where I live and I don't think I want to leave. I want to make it my own. The association fees are rather steep unfortunately, but meh it includes water, cable and internet which is nice.
